Le jaquot est un danseur d'origine indienne qui participe au culte Tamoul en l'honneur du dieu Hanuman. On le trouve dans l'Île au cours de la seconde moitié du xiX eme siècle après l'installation d'Indiens originaire du sud de la péninsule.

Jaquot is a dancer of Indian origin who participated in Hindu worship in honor the god Hanuman. It is found in the island during the second half of the nineteenth century after the installation of Indians from the south of the peninsula.
